Jayne Dunlop said: “This was a despicable incident and every effort must be made to lower tension in the area. The actions of those behind this graffiti are deeply irresponsible and I am appalled at this. People in Rasharkin are fed up with those who wish to stir up tension and their negative actions.
“Acts like this have no place in our society and the people involved cannot be allowed to destabilise the local community. Much good work has been done to move Northern Ireland forward and people do not want to see this type of behaviour.
“Anyone with information on this graffiti incident should contact police immediately so that those behind it can be swiftly caught.”
