Dunlop condemns death threat on Ballymena Sinn Fein Councillor

Alliance Party Ballymena Representative, Jayne Dunlop, has slammed those behind a death threat issued to Ballymena Sinn Fein councillor Monica Digney.

Jayne Dunlop stated: “I condemn this despicable threat. In Northern Ireland we are trying to create a society free from intimidation, where people can stand up for their beliefs without being under threat.

“Death threats have no place in any society that seeks to uphold the rule of law. Politicians should be able to carry out their daily work without feeling threatened in any way.”

Jayne Dunlop concluded: “I appeal to anyone with information on the source of the death threat to contact police immediately.”
