Alliance Councillor Karen Douglas has condemned an attack on a man in the Lismore Avenue area of Bangor.
The man, believed to be in his 40s, was attacked in the early hours of Saturday morning by four masked men wielding hammers.
Councillor Karen Douglas said: “This was a disgusting attack and must be condemned by all. My thoughts are with the victim and his wider family and friend circle as he not only begins his recovery but attempts to come to terms with what has happened.
“Everyone has the right to feel safe in their own home, something which these four men hiding behind masks have taken from the victim.
“As a community I want to urge everyone to be vigilant and if you have any information please contact the PSNI as soon as possible.”
