Stewart Dickson MLA said: “After his non-appearance at the Social Development Committee last week, I was disappointed by the failure of Stephen Brimstone to provide answers to straight forward questions.
“He is perfectly entitled to answer our questions in whatever way he wishes, including not commenting on an issue, however, the Committee and the public will be able to draw their own conclusions by his unconvincing performance. I lost count of how many times he said ‘I am not prepared to answer questions on internal party matters’. The real question is – what is he hiding by his refusal to answer the Committee’s questions?
“Yet again, DUP members on the DSD Committee attempted to disrupt the proceedings. They are deliberately trying to block the scrutiny remit of the Committee. I can reassure them that I won’t let their silly games get in the way of the truth.”
