Dickson urges residents near schools to be vigilant of vandalism during the summer

Alliance Justice Spokesperson Stewart Dickson MLA has supported the PSNI initiative called “School Watch” that urges residents near schools to be vigilant of vandalism in empty schools over the summer.

Stewart Dickson MLA said: “Unfortunately there has been a history of vandalism at a number of schools that are left empty over the summer holidays. This resulted in expensive repairs having to be carried out, money that could have been better spent on the education of our children.

“I am glad that the Police are continuing to treat this issue with the seriousness that it deserves.

“I would urge anybody who sees any suspicious activity at an empty school property to contact the police. It is only with the support of the public that the Police will be able to tackle crimes such as this needless vandalism.”
