Stewart Dickson MLA said: “The news that the unemployment rate has increased again shows that the Northern Ireland economy is still facing a tough time. We will unfortunately be faced with further bad news when the job losses at FG Wilson take effect.
“We must take a radical approach to improving our economy by implementing new measures such as a Green New Deal. However, the Executive has so far failed to deliver this. When you look at what countries like Germany and the United States have done on the green economy, it is shocking that we have not followed suit.
“The issue of a lower rate of corporation tax could deliver a radical change but we must be careful not to put all of our eggs in one basket.”
