Stewart Dickson MLA said: “The PSNI are working to protect the whole community, yet those who are injuring so many officers are showing their opposition to the rule of law and order.
“Those who have criticised the policing operations are justifying the attacks these officers have suffered on too many instances in the past six weeks.
“It is completely unacceptable that over 100 officers have been injured since trouble began at the start of December.
“The vast majority of the public are fed up with the trouble and the disruption. They are appalled at the continued violence and are backing the police.
“Those who are carrying out this violence do not care for the damage they are doing to their own communities. These protests and violence must end now before a life is lost.”
