Dickson questions Finance Minister over Ulster Bank chaos

Alliance Chief Whip Stewart Dickson MLA has questioned the Finance Minister in the Assembly on the Ulster Bank chaos. The Finance Minister was brought to the Assembly to answer urgent oral question on his meeting yesterday with the Chair of RBS, the parent company of Ulster Bank.

Stewart Dickson MLA said: “Part of the problem that many customers have faced during this period is the lack of information that Ulster Bank is providing to them. I am disappointed that it has taken the Chair of RBS, their parent company to come and spell out what is happening.

“Many customers just want to know when this problem will be fixed. Some were led to believe by Ulster Bank that it would be solved within a couple of days but Sir Philip Hampton has admitted that problems would be entering a fourth week.

“This whole system problem has been a complete fiasco on the part of the Ulster Bank and their inability to effectively get information across to their customers has caused more problems.”
