Dickson – Omagh families deserve the truth

Alliance Justice spokesperson Stewart Dickson MLA has said that the Omagh families deserve the truth. His comments were made after the Secretary of State announced that there would not be a public inquiry into the Omagh bomb which killed 29 people, including a woman pregnant with twins, on 15^th August 1998.

Stewart Dickson MLA said: “The Omagh families have a right to know the full facts about the tragic events of 15^th August 1998. They deserve to know the truth.

“There are still many unanswered questions surrounding the events that led up to that day. Many families and survivors are still suffering today as all the facts have yet to be released.

“The Omagh bomb resulted in the single biggest loss of life since the Troubles began and I believe that the truth should be revealed.

“The families have campaigned in a dignified and honourable manner, and I would like to pay tribute to their work.”
