The Alliance representative was speaking after the Department for Regional Development announced a £170,000 project for Eden, which is due to begin on August 3. The resurfacing of the A2 Larne Road between the Victoria Road and Eden village will provide almost a kilometre of new asphalt road when it is completed three weeks later.
“This is a scheme that is long overdue and which will provide a massive boost to this stretch of East Antrim. It is a busy road, ferrying as it does many commuters, and links businesses along this part of the constituency.
“It will complement the work being done further along the Shore Road towards Belfast and while unfortunately it will mean temporary traffic arrangements for a few weeks, it will bring long-term benefits to the local area.”
