Stewart Dickson said:”Gerry Adams must apologise and retract these disgraceful comments. He needs to remember that at the heart of the Smithwick Report are two grieving families who are learning what happened to their loved ones. They do not need these malicious and deeply offensive comments during what must be a difficult and painful time for them.
“It is wrong to claim that these two RUC officers were at some level culpable in their own deaths. The only people responsible for these murders are the Provisional IRA and the Garda officers who were involved in collusion.
“Gerry Adams’ comments are out of touch with reality.”
