The 25-year-old is currently being treated in hospital after the men entered a house in Hampton Crescent in the town around 1.35am this morning (Saturday). They attacked him with baseball bats and bars, with the victim suffering fractures to his arm and leg. A number of other people at the property at the time were not hurt.
“I was shocked by this incident and its brutality,” said Mr Dickson.
“People do not want to see this sort of violence on our streets. There is never any justification for carrying out this sort of crime and those responsible clearly have no regard for the wellbeing of others.
“If anyone has information on this incident, I would urge them to contact police immediately”
