Dickson expresses condolences following house fire death

Alliance East Antrim MLA, Stewart Dickson, has expressed his condolences following the death of an elderly woman in an accidental house fire in Larne on Monday. Firefighters were able to rescue the woman from her house on Greenland Walk, however she died a short time later at the scene.

Stewart Dickson MLA said: “I was deeply saddened to hear of the death of this woman. I would like to express my condolences to her family and friends.

“Her death has highlighted the dangers of house fires, so I would urge everybody to check that their smoke detectors are working properly.

“I would also like to pay tribute to our Fire and Rescue Service personnel who risk their lives on a daily basis.”
