Dickson encourages constituents to take advantage of PeoplePlus NI training

East Antrim Alliance MLA, Stewart Dickson, met with local training provider PeoplePlus NI to discuss the opportunities available for local communities through the Building Employment through Education Project (BEE), funded by the Social Investment Fund (SIF).

Mr Dickson said: “So far the programme has delivered over 700 employability assessment days, 5000 free breakfasts across six different schools and CV preparation courses which have helped hundreds of people.

“The second stage of the project includes the delivery of community-led courses on a variety of topics, including health and wellbeing, forklift truck driving, sewing, employability skills, pottery IT, anxiety management and many more.

“Inter-generational unemployment is a significant issue across Northern Ireland, and one which PeoplePlus NI is tackling. This project maximises the power of community education by giving communities the confidence to re-engage with the local employment market.

“Constituents in Newtownabbey, Larne and Carrickfergus who are interested in learning more about this opportunity should contact PeoplePlus NI on 028 9521 3215.”
