A man in his 50s was shot in the calf after being approached by three masked men in the Castlemara estate around 7.30pm yesterday (Friday). He was treated in hospital following the attack.
“This was a shocking incident, which I utterly condemn,” said Mr Dickson.
“Attacks like this have no place in our society and I hope the victim is able to make a full recovery. My thoughts are with him at this difficult time.
“Those behind this attack must face the full force of the law and I would urge anyone with information to contact the police immediately.”
