Dickson describes attack on police officers in Larne as disgraceful

Alliance East Antrim representative Cllr Stewart Dickson has condemned the attack on three police officers in Larne in the early hours of Sunday morning. The officers were dealing with a fire in the Seacourt Estate when they were attacked with stones and missiles. They were not seriously hurt.

Cllr Stewart Dickson said: “I am shocked at this unacceptable and disgraceful behaviour. These police officers are on our streets to serve and protect, and yet these mindless idiots decided to attack them. This attack wasted valuable police resources and kept officers away from protecting our streets and investigating crimes.

“I am only glad that none of the officers received any serious injury. I hope they will be able to return to duty quickly.

“The people who attacked these officers must be identified and punished by the courts for their actions. I would therefore appeal to anybody who had any information about this attack to contact the police.”
