Mr Dickson said: “There is an expectation that the demand for advice services will increase significantly due to the number of households in Northern Ireland exposed to interest rate rises. This funding increase will enable more vulnerable households who are in mortgage crisis to access the great work the Housing Rights Service is providing. This will effectively go on to reduce the risk of people facing homelessness and repossession.
“This funding will prove to be a vital lifeline to those in mortgage crisis in Northern Ireland and I encourage people to contact the Mortgage Debt Advice Service Line on 0300 323 0310 or to seek guidance on the Housing Rights Service website.”
