Dickson condemns those responsible for Belfast mortar bomb

Alliance Justice spokesperson Stewart Dickson MLA has condemned those responsible for a mortar bomb device that was left near a police station on the Ballygomartin Road in Belfast. A number of homes and primary schools have been evacuated. A funeral was also disrupted.

Stewart Dickson MLA said: “Those responsible for this device have put lives at risk. I am sickened that anybody would think to carry out such an attack. These people obviously have no regard for the consequences of their actions.

“The discovery of this device is deeply concerning as it follows a number of other finds in recent weeks.

“I would like to thank the police and the army who have yet again put themselves at risk in order to protect the safety of the public.

“The police need the public to provide them with a solid stream of information about these attacks, so I would urge anybody with any information about this device to contact the police.”
