Dickson condemns those behind Derry pipe bomb

Alliance Justice spokesperson Stewart Dickson MLA has condemned those responsible for a pipe bomb which was thrown at Police on Tuesday night in Derry. A number of homes were evacuated in Charlotte Street while the device was dealt with by the Police and Army.

Stewart Dickson MLA said: “Those responsible have no regard for the well-being of other people. Lives could have been lost had this pipe bomb exploded.

“There can be no justification for this attack. It is completely unacceptable. I know the vast majority of the public will record their revulsion at what was an attempt to murder police officers.

“I would like to praise the work of the PSNI and Army officers who put their lives at risk to protect the public.

“If anybody has any information about this attack, then I would urge them to contact the police.”
