Dickson condemns pipe bomb attack on Police in Strabane

Alliance Justice spokesperson Stewart Dickson MLA has condemned those responsible for a pipe bomb attack on a police patrol in Strabane on Saturday night. The device was thrown at police in the Ballycolman estate on Saturday night. A member of the public moved it to waste ground where is was dealt with by Army technical officers.

Stewart Dickson MLA said: “This was an attack on the rule of law. There can be no place in our society for this type of violence. Lives could have been lost had this device exploded.

“I would like to praise the bravery and courage of the PSNI and Army officers who put their lives at risk to protect the public.

“If anybody has any information about this attack then I would urge them to contact the police.”
