Dickson condemns actions of those who tried to disrupt DPP meeting

Alliance Justice Spokesperson Stewart Dickson has condemned the actions of those who tried to disrupt a District Policing Partnership meeting in Derry today saying the incident sends out a very negative message at a time when we are trying to attract business to invest in Northern Ireland.

Stewart Dickson MLA said: “I strongly condemn the actions of those who tried to disrupt this meeting.

“People have a right to protest peacefully and respectfully, but not a right to be disruptive. Constructive engagement is the only way forward.

“Incidents of this nature send out a very negative message at a time when we are trying to build a better, shared future and attract businesses to invest in Northern Ireland.

“There is overwhelming support for the police and they do an excellent job often in very difficult circumstances. People want to move forward to a better and more stable future for Northern Ireland and scenes like these are very troubling.”
