Stewart Dickson MLA said: “It is vital that the Westminster government acts to ensure there is a level playing field for Northern Ireland in terms of international air routes.
“Having strong air links is vital for Northern Ireland tourism and business and we need action to ensure that Northern Ireland can compete. Our air connections are vitally important to helping us continue to work to grow our economy.
“The Westminster government needs to take account of the planned decreases in air travel tax in Ireland and the implications that this change could have on air travel from Northern Ireland.
“Naomi Long MP has been working hard at Westminster to try and deliver reduced air passenger duty for Northern Ireland. There needs to be fairness for Northern Ireland and the Westminster government must take action to protect all key routes from here.”
