The MLA for East Antrim – who is also the Alliance Party representative on the Council of Europe – Mr Dickson added it is never too late, or too early to start learning additional languages.
Stewart Dickson MLA said: “Across Europe there are many employment opportunities, but often a lack of knowledge of additional languages can stand in the way of securing a dream role.
“Learning additional languages is also a fantastic way to promote understanding of each other and overcome cultural differences. I would encourage as many people as possible to take an interest in learning additional languages – even a few words can transform any trip abroad.”
