Alliance Westminster candidate Patricia O’Lynn has said the Ballycastle community is in shock following the death of a woman while swimming.

Councillor O’Lynn said: “The entire community is in shock today following this tragedy on Ballycastle beach. I offer my deepest sympathy to the woman’s family and wish the other lady a speedy recovery.

“I would pay special tribute to the emergency services who were quickly on the scene to assist. Tragedies such as this impact on many people and there is a real sense of loss across the area.”
