Cochrane worried by attempted child abduction in East Belfast

Alliance East Belfast MLA Judith Cochrane has expressed her concerns after an abduction attempt was made on three young girls in the Ballybeen area of East Belfast last night. The girls were able to get away and it was reported to the police.

Judith Cochrane MLA said: “As a mother to two young girls, I know the dreadful thoughts that go through a parents mind when they hear of this story.

“With recent reports of attempted abductions in Newtownabbey, I am sure many parents are worried by this.

“I would urge parents to remind their children of the dangers of being approached by a stranger.

“The person who tried to abduct these girls must urgently apprehended by the police, so I would urge anybody with any information about it to contact the police.”
