Alliance East Belfast MLA Judith Cochrane has hailed the success of the World Police and Fire Games after the first five days of competition and has encouraged people to attend the remaining events.
Judith Cochrane MLA said: “The World Police and Fire Games have been a tremendous success. All the competitors have received such a warm welcome from the public.
“I would encourage everybody to attend some of the remaining events over the next few days. There is such a variety of events in some fantastic locations around Northern Ireland.
“These Games will be a great boost to Northern Ireland’s international image. As all the competitors return home at the end of Games, I am sure that they will spread word of the great time they had in Northern Ireland.
“I have been greatly impressed by our local competitors who have won over 40 medals so far and I am sure that they will have further success in the remaining few days of the Games. As a keen hockey player, I thoroughly enjoyed the matches and atmosphere at the Stormont Pavilion at the weekend.”
