Cochrane disgusted at arson attack in East Belfast

East Belfast Alliance MLA Judith Cochrane has expressed shock and disgust at an arson attack at a flat in Glenallen Street in the east of the city in which burning material was put through a letterbox shortly after 1am on Friday. A 34-year-old man was rescued from the flat by firefighters.

Judith Cochrane MLA said: “This is an extremely troubling incident. This must have been a very traumatic experience and I hope the man who was rescued recovers swiftly from this ordeal.

“I want to praise the bravery and excellent work of the fire service in rescuing this man. They have to contend with very difficult situations and their courage must be recognised. Anyone who can help police with their investigation into this should contact them immediately.”
