Carrick robbery shows crime still the priority issue facing NI

Alliance Local Government Chief Whip Stewart Dickson has expressed his disgust at an armed robbery on a restaurant in Carrickfergus, and said it illustrates the importance of tackling crime the right way in Northern Ireland.

A Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant on the Belfast Road in the town was attacked this morning [Sunday 18th].

The Carrickfergus Councillor stated: “I strongly condemn this frightening attack on the restaurant, and send my sympathies to the staff involved. This is another shocking act.

“People must have seen something on the Belfast Road at the time of the robbery, and I would encourage them to report that immediately to the police.

“This incident will alarm many people across the area. It shows that gun crime is still the priority issue for democratic politicians in Northern Ireland to deal with.”
