Newtownabbey Alliance Councillor Tom Campbell has paid tribute to former Newtownabbey SDLP Councillor Tommy McTeague who died last night.
Cllr Tom Campbell said: “He gave great service to the community in Newtownabbey and was a very well a respected figure.
“I was one of those who was keen to support the move to make him a Freeman of the Borough.
“He was a decorated war veteran and was a pillar of the community in the area, and will be very sadly missed.
“My thoughts are with his family and friends at this most difficult of times.”
