Alliance Health Spokesperson Paula Bradshaw has cautioned that hospital waiting lists continue to be very worrying, and called on political leaders to take responsibility for serious reform.
The South Belfast MLA stated: “The latest waiting list numbers continue to be extremely worrying.
“The length of time people are having to wait for vital diagnosis and treatment is not just unacceptable; it is leading to further problems and strains on patients and the Health Service itself as other difficulties arise.
“Also unacceptable is the unwillingness of political leaders to accept the responsibility that comes with their mandate. Short-term fixes and sticking plaster resources are not working. It is time we got on with governing and with delivering the transformation required to bring down waiting times and deliver a Service which truly works for patients.”
