Blair condemns latest attack on North Belfast memorial

Alliance North Belfast representative John Blair has termed the 17^th attack on a memorial to three Scottish soldiers in North Belfast ‘outrageous’.

The local representative was speaking after glass jars filled with paint were smashed over the monument.

John Blair said: “That this memorial has again become the target of vandals is absolutely outrageous and this behaviour must be stopped.

“Not only do the thugs behind these attacks not represent the community as a whole, but their continued actions only serve to cause further pain to the families of the three victims.

“I appeal to those behind these incidents to stop immediately and I would urge anyone with information to contact the PSNI as soon as possible.”
