Anderson: Enterprise Week will promote local businesses

Alliance Councillor Stuart Anderson has revealed Ards and North Down Council is set to explore the possibility of hosting the borough’s first ever Enterprise Week next year.

Approved at the latest full Council meeting – on September 23 – the initiative will run for the first time next year, if given the go-ahead, with the aim of promoting, developing and assisting entrepreneurship across the area.

The initiative would comprise a series of events ranging from interactive workshops, informative talks and networking opportunities.

Councillor Stuart Anderson said: “It is hoped that Enterprise Week will set down a marker that our Council is committed to supporting local business – something Alliance was vocal about in our local government manifesto.

“I am delighted the Council backed my plans for this scheme – but we do need the input of local businesses and stakeholders to ensure that it is a success, a success that I hope can be built upon in years to come.”
