Alliance Spokesperson on Arts Culture And Heritage, Yvonne Boyle, has welcomed the Arts Council of England’s Award of the David Cohen British Literature Prize to William Trevor for life time achievement in literature. She praises the writer for donating £10,000 pounds of the prize money to a young writer in Omagh.
She said:
“I welcomed this recognition of an Irish writer. His gesture shows that funding in the Arts can make a contribution to supporting creativity in a community recovering from trauma”.
