Alliance has welcomed an announcement of over 100 new jobs at Belfast International Airport.
The jobs, of which 85 are full-time, are being created by six businesses at the airport and will cover a range of aviation support activities, including food outlets, taxi operations and private charter services.
“This news, coming so soon after a similar one of almost 200 jobs being created at the airport, is a welcome boost for the area,” said Alliance Leader and South Antrim MLA David Ford.
“Airports can act as catalysts for economic growth. By driving business activity, I hope Belfast International Airport can act as a platform for further employment opportunities.”
East Antrim MLA Stewart Dickson added: “East Antrim is also very well placed to benefit from the economic boost the airport can provide.
“On February 8, the airport will be holding a three-hour jobs fair at the Templeton Hotel, seeking to fill these positions. I would urge those interested to attend to explore the employment opportunities on offer.”
