Chris Lyttle MLA, who recently sponsored a Unite Against Hate campaign event at Stormont which the GAA and IFA were both involved in, said: “We had a very good meeting with representatives of the GAA and were very impressed with their community outreach and inclusion work.
“The Game of Three Halves project in East Belfast has made a very positive impact in getting young people to try out Gaelic football, rugby and football and improving community relations.
“The GAA have also done good work in the Unite Against Hate campaign, which is a real passion of mine. Their efforts in promoting health and well-being must also be applauded. I encourage all political parties to engage with all the sporting organisations in Northern Ireland.”
