Alliance representatives have met with the Education Authority to discuss growing concerns over the future of Craigavon Senior High School’s Lurgan campus.
Local representative Peter Lavery joined Education spokesperson Chris Lyttle MLA, where the EA confirmed all options remained on the table for the local school.
Peter added: “With growing concern amongst local people, I arrange this meeting to get assurances what the future of the school will entail.
“I’m delighted to be able to confirm that no set decision has been made yet and that the EA is set to open a full consultation into the project, ensuring local people will have the opportunity to make their voices heard on the issue.
“I’m grateful the EA was able to respond so quickly and efficiently to our calls for a meeting and will be sure to keep local people updated when the consultation is published early next year.
“The EA has made it clear that the consultation will play a major part in whatever the outcome is set to be, so I’d encourage all local people to make sure they get involved when it goes live, ensuring their voices are heard on this important issue.”
