Cllr Stewart Dickson stated: “Its good news that two dogs described as dangerous by the USPCA have been seized following information given after last week’s expose. I would like to congratulate the BBC on their hard-hitting documentaries on the issue which brought it firmly back onto the public agenda.
“Having seen the horrific nature of this seedy activity on the BBC’s documentaries, people will be encouraged to come forward and make reports to the authorities to help stamp out this practice.
“I would strongly encourage members of the public to report suspicious breeds of dogs to the police to not only to help end dogfighting, but to protect the public from vicious breeds.”
