Alliance Councillor Billy Webb and local representative Sam Nelson have welcomed a jobs announcement from Capita, which will see 400 new posts created at its Newtownabbey site.
The company – which provides cloud, infrastructure and ICT managed services for public, private and third sector organisations – will invest £29.9 million in the local site over three years.
Councillor Billy Webb said: “This is a major boost for our local economy and I welcome this announcement today. This investment will have a very positive impact on the local economy and will hopefully increase other business in the area.
“Alliance Minister Stephen Farry has again proven his dedication to growing and expanding the labour market in Northern Ireland. As an Alliance Councillor I remain dedicated to attracting new investment opportunities to the Newtownabbey area.”
Sam Nelson added: “Capita is a long-term employer in the area and this latest investment proves its commitment to the local workforce and its growing confidence in the Newtownabbey area.
“I hope this announcement today will lead to further announcements for the local economy as Northern Ireland signals it is open for business.”
