Alliance colleagues go head to head for the Schools’ Cup Final

Alliance East Belfast MLAs, Judith Cochrane and Chris Lyttle, will be cheering on their former schools at the Schools’ Cup final on Monday. Judith Cochrane MLA said: “Methody have a great track record in the Schools’ Cup, having won the title 36 times. I hope to see the boys secure a third successive cup victory like they last did back in 1991. Chris and I work as a great team both in Stormont and across our constituency, but on this occasion we are definitely rivals!”

“The St Patrick’s Day Final at Ravenhill is one of the most exciting fixtures in the rugby calendar and it will be a great day out for spectators and players in the newly improved stadium.”

Chris Lyttle said: “Sullivan may be underdogs but it is a fantastic achievement to reach the final and I believe the team can bring home the cup. It might be the first time we are in the final but records are there to be broken and there will be thousands of Sullivan fans lifting their voices to cheer the team to success.

“There will be bragging rights at stake with my Assembly colleague and I’m looking forward to a great match at Ravenhill.”
