Alliance Westminster candidate in Upper Bann, Alan Castle, has slammed the Council over its lack of attention to youth facilities.
Mr Castle, who is also standing for Council in Craigavon, stated: “The big issue on the doorsteps is the lack of leisure and social facilities for young people.
“There is concern that large groups of youths are congregating around people’s homes rather than in youth or sports clubs, because these facilities simply do not exist. I know from my own experience and from what people have told me that this is creating unnecessary fear in some locations.
“I am pledging that my first priority on the Council would be a new playpark area for under-12s, set up more youth clubs across Craigavon and, through this, ensure people can travel safely at all times throughout the borough.”
