Alliance Party Leader, David Ford, has acknowledged the work of the Washington-Ireland Programme, applauding its contribution to expanding political expertise in Northern Ireland through its service and leadership programme.
David Ford said, “Northern Ireland has benefited directly from this excellent opportunity. The programme allows young people from various backgrounds to work together, without fear or intimidation, to cooperation and build trust. This is completely in line with the vision of the Alliance Party, which seeks to bring people together to work for a shared future, where people can live and learn, work and play, together safely.
“I wish the Washington-Ireland Programme every continued success. My party believes that its work will assist progress towards a fair and peaceful society here, as it equips a new generation with the skills and experience which translate into positive action.
“I look forward to learning of more groups of young people being able to access this excellent programme.”
