Alliance Councillor for Lisburn and Castlereagh, Michelle Guy, urges more support for parents as findings of major survey reveals 82% of parents do not feel they get enough support.
The ‘Big Parenting Survey 2019’ conducted by Parenting NI, collated over 1,300 responses from local parents, with a special focus on technology. Speaking at the launch of the survey findings Councillor Guy commented; “The range of concerns expressed by local parents in this survey is stark and worrying. It is no surprise to see technology, social media, mental health and the day-to-day pressures of childcare and achieving a work-life, all feature in the results.
“These pressures are well known, but now it is the time for government, at all levels, to get serious about prioritising appropriate policies and interventions to deal with these issues”.
