Alliance Leader Naomi Long has announced the party’s spokespersons for the new Assembly mandate, saying the party’s representatives will continue working to deliver for the people of Northern Ireland.

Chris Lyttle will continue as Alliance Education spokesperson, chairing the Assembly’s Education Committee, while Paula Bradshaw will remain as Health spokesperson and also take up a role as Assembly Private Secretary, supporting Justice Minister Naomi Long. Kellie Armstrong becomes the party’s new Communities spokesperson, sitting on the Assembly Committee as Deputy Chair, while Stewart Dickson takes the Economy portfolio.

New MLA Andrew Muir is Alliance’s new Infrastructure and Finance spokesperson, while Trevor Lunn has responsibility for the Executive Office and John Blair stays with the Environment and Agriculture portfolio.

“This is a strong team of MLAs who will continue bringing the same attitude and determination all Alliance elected representatives have to make our society better,” said Mrs Long.

“Some of the MLAs will remain on certain portfolios, having built up a range of experience throughout the respective sectors, while others will be approaching their new area fresh. However, I am confident they will all work their hardest to deliver for the people of Northern Ireland.

“The Assembly needs to succeed – for our health and education systems, for our infrastructure, for our environment and for our economy to name but a few. Alliance’s MLAs will play a constructive role in helping achieve that.”
