Alliance Economy spokesperson Stephen Farry MLA has expressed regret after Wrightbus warned up to 95 jobs could be lost at the company.
The Ballymena manufacturer said it was the result of low levels of demand for their buses in the UK market. It follows 95 jobs being lost at Wrightbus in February.
“The news of proposed redundancies is deeply disappointing, especially for those workers who may be directly affected by it,” said Dr Farry.
“The lack of an Executive means no Programme for Government or economic strategy are in place to help companies improve their prospects. The vacuum of decision-making and reform will only serve to damage our longer term economic outlook.
“Today’s news may not be directly linked to Brexit but we need to be conscious it and its resulting uncertainty over access to markets also currently make it very difficult to further develop our economy.”
