With police now classing the incident as ‘an acute terror situation’, the Alliance Party’s Deputy Leader said she hoped those responsible would be apprehended quickly before any more fatalities occurred.
Naomi Long MLA said: “My thoughts and prayers are with those all those affected by the gun attack in Munich tonight.
“Yet again another weekend has been shattered by the scenes of an appalling attack on unsuspecting people simply getting on with their daily lives.
“While it may not yet be clear the exact motivation behind the attack, what is clear is that another European city has been subjected to an inexcusable attack that has left citizens in fear and must be condemned.”
