Councillor McAllister was speaking after paint was thrown over the front of the building on Clifton Street over the weekend. It marks the latest in a series of attacks on the hall.
“This was nothing more than a senseless attack, fuelled by sectarianism,” she said.
“Nothing can be gained by this. We need to tolerate and respect each other’s culture and move away from these senseless acts if we are to ever live together as a united community.
“I would appeal to anyone with information on this attack to contact police.”
