Approved at the latest full Council meeting – on September 23 – the initiative will run for the first time next year, if given the go-ahead, with the aim of promoting, developing and assisting entrepreneurship across the area.
The initiative would comprise a series of events ranging from interactive workshops, informative talks and networking opportunities.
Councillor Stuart Anderson said: “It is hoped that Enterprise Week will set down a marker that our Council is committed to supporting local business – something Alliance was vocal about in our local government manifesto.
