Councillor McDonough-Brown was speaking after the fight in the Castle Street area of the city shortly after 8.30pm on Saturday (July 11). Three men were assaulted outside licensed premises, with a 46-year-old man losing part of his ear, a 57-year-old man sustaining a minor cut to his head and a 55-year-old man receiving minor head injuries.
“This was a horrifying incident and I am disgusted at those who carried out this animalistic act,” said the Alliance representative.
“It is clear there was no regard as to the wellbeing of others and I hope those who sustained the injuries will make full recoveries.
“If anyone has any information on this incident, I would urge them to contact the PSNI immediately.”
