The statement, from Shadow Northern Ireland Secretary Ivan Lewis, means the notorious East Belfast boys’ home would be part of the Home Office inquiry if Labour forms the next Government.
Alliance East Belfast Westminster candidate Mrs Long said the pressure was mounting for Kincora’s inclusion, whichever party was in power after the General Election.
“This week’s harrowing revelations by former Kincora resident Richard Kerr again brought the crimes carried out there to a national audience and showcased the disturbing link between several alleged paedophile rings operating in Britain and Kincora.
“I welcome Labour’s announcement and would call for all parties to follow suit. No matter who is in Government after May 7th, the victims and survivors deserve justice. Justice Lowell Goddard’s inquiry remains the best hope for that.”
