Lunn– Paramilitaries have no place in our society

Alliance Policing Board member, Trevor Lunn MLA, has condemned those responsible for a paramilitary style shooting in West Belfast in which a man was shot in both legs by two gunmen. The shooting took place in the Lady Street area at about 20:55 on Tuesday night.

Trevor Lunn MLA said: “Paramilitaries have no place in our society. These gunmen have nothing to offer the community. Their only aim is bring Northern Ireland back to dark days of the Troubles.

“Nobody deserves to be subjected to such a brutal and barbaric attack. I hope this man will be able to make a full recovery from the injuries he sustained.

“The Police will need the support of the public to apprehend those responsible and prevent future attacks, so I would urge anybody with any information about this shooting to contact the PSNI or Crimestoppers.”
